The cheers of thousands filled the air at Conygham Hall Field as true heroes crossed the muddy finishing line of the Knaresborough Bed Race, raising thousands for good causes in the face of persistent rain.

Gathering at Knaresborough Castle Yard the medieval citadel was bursting by mid-morning on Saturday, June 10 for the 52nd run of the iconic event. Spectators and supporters of 90 costumed teams of heroes and villains assembled around magnificent, and often gargantuan, decorated beds.
