An Evening In Vienna: the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be playing seasonal waltzes and polkas during their Christmas Gala Concert in the Royal Hall, 7.30pm Friday, December 14. Operetta star Marilyn Hill Smith (Friday Night Is Music Night) will lead this magical festive entertainment of Strauss, Viennese and Christmas music including such favourites as The Blue Danube, Tritsch Tratsch Polka, Stout Hearted Man and a chance to join in with carol singing and the very Christmassy nostalgic, White Christmas which the forecasters say may well be the case. The Christmas fun will be presented by Mark Langley with guests from Opera North, Jeremy Peaken, baritone and Andrew Forbes Lane, tenor.
