Galleries’ Winter Display – Christmas 2012: during December Anstey Galleries, Swan Road, Harrogate will be changing their display daily in their Advent Window. During November and December festive refreshments will be available on a weekend. Hours of opening are Wednesday -Saturday 10am-3pm, Sunday 2-4pm and on Tuesdays during December, 11am- 4pm. The Galleries are part of the OWN ART scheme which allows customers to acquire delightful works of art, sculpture and jewellery using a nought percent loan. Also on offer is a consultancy service for those wanting guidance on enhancing their home, business or garden. They source and commission fine art and sculpture for all types of commercial and residential spaces.

Harrogate Women’s Luncheon Club: on Monday, December 3 at their regular venue, Ascot House Hotel, Kings Road, Harrogate Women’s Luncheon Club will hear Keith Goodchild speak about his life in the Lifeguards and Household Cavalry. Courses For Do It Yourself Enthusiasts: on the last Wednesday of every month Wrayways of Franklin Road HG1 5ED at a cost of £49.99 run a DIY course from 10am-2pm. Also on the last Monday of the month a Basic Router course is available from 9.30am-3pm. Cost £95. All materials are provided and places are limited to ensure quality instruction and supervision. Christmas Fair: on Saturday, December 1 Saint Luke’s Church, Franklin Square, off Franklin Mount are holding a Christmas Fair from 11am-1pm. Stalls will include jewellery, books, gifts, raffle, bric a brac, cakes, tombola. Fairtrade items and refreshments will also be available.

Saint Luke’s Church Of England Service: there will be an informal celebration of Holy Communion at 10.30am on Sunday, December 2, which is the first Sunday of Advent at St Luke’s Church, Franklin Square situated behind the spire of the old church on Kings Road.

Pumped: Harrogate Youth Theatre will perform at several half hour productions in the Royal Pump Room Museum, Crown Place, Harrogate on Saturday, December 1. They will be sharing interesting stories of characters in the past, during the spa heyday who helped make Harrogate the town we know today. Performance times are 1.30pm, 2.15pm, 3.15pm, 4pm, 5pm and 5.45pm. Tickets are £4, concessions £3 available at Harrogate Theatre, Box Office, Oxford Street. 01423 502116.

Country Living Magazine Event: at the Harrogate International Centre, Kings Road, the Christmas Fair organised by Country Living Magazine runs from 10am today until Sunday, December 2. Goods made with quality craftsmanship will be available to purchase for those special gifts.
