Rotary Club of Harrogate: on Monday, September 2 Andy Pinder will speak about Raynet to members of the Rotary Club of Harrogate. The club meets at 5.30 for 6pm every Monday at the Ascot House Hotel, Kings Road, Harrogate. Fringe Finale: during the CLASSICFest Festival the Fringe Programme has been running at the Majestic Hotel. Here the festival club has given guests the opportunity to enjoy cabaret, entertainment, food and drink until late. On Friday, August 30 one of the concluding acts will be In Conversation with Bruce Graham. The cost is £7.50 and may be booked with the hotel.

Harrogate Strathspey and Reel Club: for anyone interested in Scottish Dancing there is a club that meets every Monday during the season from 7.30 to 9.45pm at the Saint Luke’s Parish Centre, Franklin Square, off Kings Road. HG1 5EL. The Harrogate Strathspey and Reel Club welcomes beginners and accomplished dancers, dress is informal with soft shoes and there is no need for a partner. The coming season starts on Monday, September 9. The cost is £3.50 per evening with the first evening free. Tea Dance: at the Sun Pavilion in the Valley Gardens, on Tuesday, September 3 the final tea dance of the season will take place from 2-4.30pm. Hosted by Brian and Janet Broadbent and Terry Wadkin providing the music the afternoon of dancing includes tea, cakes and biscuits for the £6 admission fee. The event is in aid of the Royal Hall Restoration Trust and sponsorship is by the Harrogate International Centre and Kudos Hospitality.

The Woodcutters Cottage: the exhibition of work by Jane Lee McCrochen at the Mercer Art Gallery, Swan Road comes to an end on Tuesday, September 8. The artist creates intricate multi layered drawings using black and coloured biros inspired by fairy tales and images of war.

Saint Luke’s Church of England Church: on Sunday, September 1 the 10.30am service at Saint Luke’s Church, Franklin Square, off Kings Road, will be the celebration of Holy Communion.
