Lands End To John O’ Groats: the speaker at the meeting on Tuesday, April 23 of the Harrogate Stray Probus Club is Rev Francis Wainaina who will talk about his journey from Lands End to John O’Groats. Harrogate Fine Art Collections: paintings from the Harrogate Fine Art Collection are on display with the title All Dressed Up, depicting Costume and Fashion. The display is on until July 7.
Encasement: on display at the Mercer Art Gallery until June 30 is the work of Anne Thalheim which has the title Encasement. She makes objects of beauty from industrial materials,woven together using craft and dress-making techniques with imagery taken from literature and historic costume.
Marie Curie Fundraiser: the Katrina Hughes Dancers will perform at the Royal Hall, Ripon Road on Saturday, April 20. The evening begins at 7.30pm and monies raised will be for the Marie Curie charity. The entertainment will include renditions from Chicago, Shrek, Footloose, Dirty Dancing and other well known music. Gang Show: on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 the Harrogate and District Scouts and Guides are planning a fun packed evening at the Royal Hall with their Gang Show. Using a mix of Ralph Reader material, modern music from the world of musicals and pop, humorous sketches,dances, singers and instrumentalists there is something to entertain everyone.
