The Little Ale House has opened on Cheltenham Crescent, not far from fellow recent craft beer newcomer The North Bar, just below a little row of Indian and Asian restaurants.

Describing itself as a "micropub", The Little Ale House is also an independent - another addition to the wave of indies changing Harrogate's high street.

As the name suggests, it's a small place - one traditional-looking room with beers in a glass box on one side and a small bar with four handpulls and four key keg taps - all listed on a chalkboard, as is the fashion.

But The Little Ale House also boasts interesting ciders, bottled German beers plus wines and gins.

Importantly in this summer season, it's also got a small beer garden at the back for enjoying a relaxed pint outdoors - weather permitting!
