A missing boy with learning difficulties was found safely after a police helicopter search over Brimham Rocks on Saturday (October 1).

Police were called at around 2.30pm to reports of a missing vulnerable 15-year-old at the popular hiking destination and a search helicopter was dispatched from Wakefield.

The boy was found an hour later by a local person who had seen the urgent appeal on Facebook.

The Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue team were also called out by North Yorkshire Police to assist with the search but stood down just as they were assembling at the search area.
