THE pupils, staff and governors at Kettlesing Felliscliffe Community Primary School are bidding a fond farewell to their headteacher.

Jane Shaw, who retires at the end of this school year, has taught at the school for 22 years and has been headteacher for 11 of those years.

Over her time as headteacher she has overseen many improvements to the school, including classroom extensions and enabling an independent pre-school to work alongside the school.

Her most recent achievement has been to extend before and after school care, with a breakfast club starting at 8am and after-school club until 5.30pm every weekday.

Mrs Shaw is preparing to hand over her headship to Lisa Jackson-Ward who is currently an assistant headteacher at a Harrogate primary school.

Mrs Jackson-Ward said she was very much looking forward to becoming the new headteacher at Kettlesing Felliscliffe Community Primary School from September.
