HARRY Potter star Matthew Lewis is joining a charity walk in Harrogate being led by inspirational Leeds youngster Bethany Hare.
The actor, who played Neville Longbottom in the hit films, will take part in the Walk of Smiles on May 20.
The event is to raise money for Martin House Children’s Hospice in Boston Spa, and the charity Bethany’s Smile, which was set up in December to support children with serious illnesses.
It will begin at the Harrogate Arms on Crag Lane, where bacon sandwiches and drinks will be available, with registration from 9.30am.
Entertainment will start at 10.30am on a purpose-built outdoor stage in the grounds of the pub, with the walk itself starting at 11.30am.
The 6.5km walk is suitable for all ages and can be used by those with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
On returning to the Harrogate Arms, there will be a huge “after party” to celebrate everyone coming together to support this great cause, with attractions including a barbecue, a fire engine, a bouncy castle and a falconry display.
Bethany will sing Smile – the Charlie Chaplin song with which she has already raised so much money – while Chloe Proctor, Eleanor Hemingway, Sam Crane and the girl group Sweet Charity will also perform.
A similar walk in Leeds in September raised over £10,000.
Sponsor forms can be downloaded from www.bethanysmile.org or picked up from the Harrogate Arms or The Old Ball pub at Horsforth.
