Olympian Kat Copeland will join Esther Rantzen and Princess Anne in Harrogate next week.

They will attend the Townswomen’s Guild’s (TG) AGM at Harrogate International Centre on Wednesday.

More than 1,700 Guild members from across the UK are expected at the event.

Princess Anne will also open the new Harrogate CAB premises on the same day.

The Princess Royal has been the Patron of TG for over 30 years, while Esther Rantzen is the organisation’s National Vice President.

Kat Copeland took gold in the Women’s lightweight double sculls rowing at London 2012. She will address the crowd.

A statement from the Guild read: “ As the UK’s largest campaigning women’s group, at the AGM the organisation decides where its focus will lie through discussion of proposed mandate topics. This year, delegates will discuss the matter of euthanasia.

“Furthermore, TG will be looking at society’s reliance on technology and whether this places those who cannot afford or access such technology at a disadvantage.”

Esther Rantzen will talk about the developments of The Silver Line, billed as a help line for lonely people.
