A Harrogate charity supporting more than 100 adults with learning disabilities has raised more than £300 through a ‘all for one and one for all’ fundraiser.
Volunteers from the Harrogate Skills 4 Living Centre were out in force last week to raise money for the North-Park Road organisation.
Shoppers were asked for one per cent of the cost of their lunch, shopping or a day’s wages for all the work HS4LC does throughout the year.
Some of the volunteers dressed up as ‘Mouseketeers’ in order to represent the ‘one for all’ motto and raise the profile of the small charity. Despite the showers, £300 was raised and HS4LC chief executive Stephanie Kirkman Meikle said: “ We would like to say a huge thank you to those who donated. We hope that more people will come to hear about the centre and the people we help.”
