WOOFS and Wellies, a sponsored walk in aid of Saint Michael’s Hospice, will take place from 10am on Sunday, March 4.

Dog lovers and wellywearers of all ages are invited to register for the event with registration closing on February 24.

The event, which includes 2.5km and 5km routes, will be the first time that dogs have been permitted to Stockeld Park in Wetherby. It will raise money for Saint Michael’s, the Harrogate-based charity, that provides specialist care and support for people across the district living with terminal illness and bereavement, and is supported for the second year running by Forest House Veterinary Surgery, Knaresborough.

The charity’s chief executive, Tony Collins, said: “Woofs and Wellies was great last year – a really good atmosphere and much fun was had by all. We’re hoping this year will have the same family feeling and camaraderie and that people will take advantage of the opportunity to walk their dogs and enjoy some family time at Stockeld Park.”

So far almost 100 people have signed up for Woofs and Wellies and plenty more are expected before the closing date. Registration for Woofs and Wellies is £6 for adults and £4 for under 16s. For more information call Saint Michael’s on 01423 879687.
