Summer holiday club planned at Knaresborough church.

KNARESBOROUGH United Reformed Church is holding a summer holiday club in July aimed at primary school age children.

Dave Godfrey, a talented children's writer and presenter, is heading up the programme with material he has written called "Rocky's Plaice" based on the life of the early church and following the story of Peter.

Church members met with Dave for a training day recently and say the free club which takes place from July 26 to 31 will include songs, stories, games, crafts and drama with all costs met by the church. The week aims to provide children with high quality teaching and fun.

Organiser, Elaine Harrison said: "Children will be well looked after by the team of adults who hold enhanced CRB disclosures and are committed to providing the very best for each child.

"Youngsters are invited to meet Mr Tagliatelle and his trainee chiefs and watch out for Banana's the Frog! The deep fat fryer is another of the characters who will entertain with his adventures during the week.

"Morning sessions run from 10am till noon for children who have completed reception, year one or two at school and the doors open at 9.45am.

"The afternoon sessions run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and are for those who have completed any of the years three to six. Doors open 1.15pm. Adults are welcome to stay for refreshments at the beginning of each session."

* If your child would like to take part in the event, you can register by collecting and completing a registration form from Knaresborough Library or the Tourist information Centre or visit www.knaresboroughurc.org/holidayclub and click on the Holiday Club icon.
