Recycling News: Those who have magnificently supported Grace Harper in her fundraising for the Guides Madagascar 2010 Project will be delighted to know that she has now booked her flight in July and returns in August just hours before the A-level results are due to be published. The bad news is that her regular recycling collections will have to finish on Sunday, March 28 as revising must become her priority! Grace (ably assisted by dad) has provided a super service, it will be much misse

Back to Madagascar though and Grace says we may be interested to know that some of the money donated is being spent on 70 new mattresses for the hospital; mosquito nets; wall paint and decorating materials; toys and gifts for the children and funds to build ten new houses in an impoverished village.

Whilst in Madagascar, Grace and the Guides will be helping with refurbishments at a clinic and seeing the progress made on the houses. She intends to take many photos and from September will be presenting talks about her trip so we can all see what wonderful things the team achieved. Well done Grace and friends and may your A level preparations not be too challenging!

Village Clean Up: This was a great success last week. What a difference we can make when we all work together. A spick and span Church, litter free footpaths and hedge bottoms and a commitment from many to return on the first decent Saturday morning when the weather is kinder to do more. Many thanks to all who helped in any way both practically and by kindly providing refreshments.

Mothering Sunday Service: This Sunday will be a united service at St Thomas's at 9.30am.

Scotton Annual Parochial Church Meeting – will be held on Monday, March 15 at 7.30pm in St Thomas's Church. These are the meetings when you have a chance to hear what your church has been doing for the past year so do go along if you can.

Lent Group: Next week’s meeting looking at the Lord's Prayer will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 1.30pm at Sunnybank, Havikil Lane. All welcome.
