Riverside car park opens opposite High School

MORE car-parking spots are now available in Pateley Bridge following the opening of a new space near the town centre.

Last Friday saw the town's Mayor, Coun Kathy Sewell and the chairman of Bewerley Parish Council, Coun Geoffrey Lineham, cut the ribbon.

They gathered at the site, opposite Nidderdale High School, on land owned and developed by Alan Firth of Middlesmoor, to declare the car-park officially open.

Local councillors and representatives of Harrogate Borough Council joined them for the celebration. The car-park, close to the riverside walk, will be available to residents and tourists for 2 a day.

Mr Firth thanked those who attended, as well as members of the Nidderdale Strategic Partnership and local borough and county councillors.

He said: “It was a great honour and privilege to have the deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Harrogate at the opening.

“We hope that the Riverside car park proves beneficial to the whole of our community.”
