Police appeal after fatal crash on A1
POLICE in Harrogate are appealing for witnesses after a young man was killed in a crash on the A1 last Thursday afternoon.
The 23-year-old Thirsk man was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with critical injuries after the crash, but he died three days later.
A 21-year-old woman and a seven month old baby, passengers in his Suzuki Swift, were taken to Harrogate District Hospital after the crash, but later released.
Another passenger, a 34-year-old man from Manchester, was treated for injuries at Leeds General Infirmary, but he too, has now been released.
The 32-year-old driver of the other car involved in the collision, a Mercedes Benz, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
He appeared at Harrogate Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody while police enquiries continue.
