New tricycle treat is a thank-you to pupils
A PRIMARY school in Nidderdale has been given a brand new tricycle as a thank you boost from a local business.
Pupils at Darley Primary School were given the Winther trike by staff at the Darley Mill Centre, taking the total number of vehicles in their playground fleet to seven push-along toys.
Alison Cormack, of Darley Mill Centre, presented the trike to school headteacher Nick Coates.
She said: “We asked Darley Primary School if their choir would be able to help launch our Christmas festivities, and, in return for their magnificent performance, we are delighted to present them with this new trike.”
Headteacher at the school, Mr Coate,s said: “We have recently improved the playground for the younger children, which includes a new, carpet-like playing surface with road markings.
“The trike Alison and the team at the Darley Mill Centre have given us is a very welcome gift.
“The choir enjoyed their singing experience at the Mill and I know they will now enjoy using the trike given by the Mill.”
