14/2/12 A young protestor Ashleigh Knights 4 from Green Hammerton holds aloft her banner protesting about the proposed incinerator with other protestors outside the council officers in Harrogate yesterday(tues).
HARROGATE Borough Council has voted strongly against plans for a waste incinerator at Allerton Park.
During a public meeting peppered with impassioned pleas by campaigners against the incinerator, 14 councillors voted strongly in opposition to the North Yorkshire County Council plans. There was one abstention.
Campaigners turned out in droves to Crescent Gardens today, where members of the Borough Council’s planning committee met to discuss their response to the plans.
The campaigners’ message was clear: “No waste incinerator in North Yorkshire.”
Speaking in opposition to the committee, Marton cum Grafton councillor Nicholas Wilson said: “There are alternative treatments out there. Places are turning their backs on incineration.
“You have seen the placards outside - ‘waste is a resource’.”

Why is the exploited child made to stand in the middle of the road. There will be an article on demon drivers and speed limits next. Did the kid survive?? mmm
