Harrogate Lunar Society

THE Lunar Society has been progressing its Avoidance of Waste Programme which is part of our Green Initiative. An old ball point pen was brought back to life by refilling it with ink made from ink cap mushrooms.

Members were surprised that a signature could smell so bad. Inky fingers were cleansed with a fine green lather created by kneading wet horse chestnut leaves. Attempts to use toenail clippings as staples have met with mixed success. But the Lunar Finger- and Toe-nail Carbon Sink Mountain (LUFTONCASM) is making good progress and should rival Pen Y Ghent by next summer.

The Lunar Society is proud to announce that it has received a rare and precious award from the University of Bootle for its endeavours in practical and academic activity. The award has the philosophical title: The Nodge of ziljing Empiricism. This means that members of the Harrogate Lunar Society are entitled to have the letters NzE after their names! Earlier in the month, the members of the Lunar Society celebrated with a wonderful meal of wild boar and Basque wine at the Biscaya Bay restaurant in Harrogate.
