Fire on King's Rd
FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze in Harrogate's Kings Road.
The fire, which broke out just before 1pm today (Saturday, June 26), took hold in the ground floor of the October Hair and Beauty salon.
There are no reports of any injuries.
Photos - sent in by reader Stuart Wilson - show smoke billowing out from the front window of the salon in front of a large crowd of onlookers.
Teams from across North Yorkshire - including Harrogate, Ripon, Summerbridge, Boroughbridge and one from Wetherby - headed out in six appliances in response to a call to emergency services, which was received at 12.59pm.
A fire service spokesman told the Harrogate Advertiser that it took around 40 minutes to put out the fire. Smoke clearance equipment was then used to ventilate the affected building.
No information is yet available on the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.
