CLUBS & SOCIETIES
EXTREME Competition in extreme weathers across a range of locations and disciplines… no, not Winter Olympics, Vancouver 2010, but the Knaresborough Camera Club annual competition 2010.
We may not have had the excitement of sliding down Boroughbridge Road head first on a tea-tray (next practical night maybe – weather allowing?), but we did have 75 projected and 44 print entries to be judged by lecturer and professional photographer Dave Digby.
The competition is the last of the formal competitions of the season and is open to photographs in any style and on any subject.
Like Vancouver, Knaresborough has suffered from unpredictable weather in the past few months, though we have not needed to transport snow into the area, having had more than enough of our own.
This abundance was reflected in a number of entries, but there were many other subjects, and locations, reflecting the diversity of interests and styles of our ever growing membership, with many recent members giving the more established members more than a run for their money.
With so many entries to judge, Dave did well to give praise and positive feedback on every image before our tea-tray did make an appearance at the end of the evening.
