Charity secures minibus after fundraising

BOROUGHBRIDGE and District Community Care (BCC) has received a new 13-seat minibus to support its work.

The vehicle, which will be available to the whole community, was secured through a fundraising campaign supported by Coun Liz Vose's mayoral appeal and Reed Boardall Cold Storage Ltd.

'generosity'

BCC chairman Keith Trott said: "We are delighted to see this very worthwhile project come to fruition. BCC provides a vital service to the most-needy in our community, and we are in debt to the generosity of Reed Boardall and Boroughbridge Town Council.

"I would like to thank all those in the town who contributed towards the new bus. So many people worked long and hard to help BCC achieve its aims, not least the relentless fundraising by mayor Liz Vose and the match funding by Reed Boardall."

driver

Volunteering to drive the new bus is former fire officer Frank Appleton, who would be a great asset to the charity, said Mr Trott.

"Volunteers such as Frank are central to the future of our community service; we are always looking for people who are able to donate whatever time they can manage to help run the charity."
