Brother and sister run school stall to give help to Haiti

A KIND-hearted brother and sister from Ripon have been running a cake stall at their school to raise money for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

Alex and Helena Broadley, who are pupils at the Cathedral Choir School in Ripon, decided to take action after seeing the plight of victims on television.

"We saw it on the news and felt sorry for the disaster victims," said nine-year-old Helena.

Alex, 11, added: "We saw they were trying to get medical supplies and we thought if we had a cake stall at school it would raise a bit of money to help."

Parents were asked to supply cakes and buns and Alex and Helena sold them to pupils for 1 each during break-time, raising 144 in total for the appeal fund.
