Boston Spa Gardening Society: will be holding their next meeting on Wednesday, August 26 at 7.15pm at Deepdale Community Centre. This meeting will be the AGM – meeting and social featuring the Chairman's Challenge. There will be refreshments and raffle. New members are warmly welcomed. Forthtell: have an open invitation to a Bible Study lecture with power point entitled Daniel's 70 Weeks by Norman Pearson at Deepdale Community Centre, Boston Spa on Saturday, August 14 from 2.30–4pm. All are welcome, there will be light refreshments and free literature and there is no charge.

Rascals Playgroup: over the summer holidays, why not join us for some outdoor play at Deepdale playground every friday morning from about 10am, all welcome to join us no matter of age. Hope to see you there.

Boston Spa Tennis Club: our latest results are, Boston Spa Mixed A Team finished their season on August 5 with a win in their final match versus David Lloyd B 69 to 39. Lorraine Pearey and Gordon Milne took 22 games, Lesley Bowling and Jordan Gregory took 27 games, Nicola Slater and Steve Thompson took 20 games. This result meant that the team finished second overall in the league having only lost two matches all season to David Lloyd A and sends them into the first division next season.

Jazz in the Spa: Boston Spa village hall, Saturday, August 14 ,Scott Hamilton Quartet, another session which had to be postponed in the dark, icy days of January. But to make up for it, in much more temperate weather, we welcome one of the world’s finest tenor saxophonists. Boston Spa Crimewatch: High Street Boston Spa, Overnight July 27 / 28 A number of sheds on allotments off High Street were broken into and property stolen. It is believed a vehicle of some sort was used and parked in a field gate opposite. No one was seen at the time. Enquiries are continuing.High Street Boston Spa, Overnight July 29 / 30 Offenders pour red paint over front of commercial shop unit. No one was seen at the time. Graffiti was also sprayed on walls near playing fields off Stables Lane between Midnight July 29 and 6pm Aug 1. No one was seen. Enquiries are continuing. Deepdale Lane Boston Spa, Between 5-7.15pm July 29 Offenders cause damage to building materials and a wall at the Deepdale building site. No one was seen at the time. Bolton Way Boston Spa, Between 10-1pm Aug 1Offenders smash glass panel in rear french window gaining entry to detached house. All rooms searched and property including car keys was stolen. The offenders then take and drive away the owners Mini motor vehicle reg YK53LVD.. The vehicle was found abandoned in St Albans Close and recovered. Enquiries are continuing. A Dawes Discovery pedal cycle was stolen from the garden of a private house on the High Street between Noon Aug 1 and 8am Aug 2. No one was seen at the time. A robbery occurred at the Leeds and Holbeck Building Society Office High Street Boston Spa at 4.35pm Aug 2 The suspects made off in a blue Ford Fiesta motor vehicle believed in the direction of Thorp Arch. The vehicle was later found abandoned on Church Causeway. If you have any information regarding this incident can you please contact the C.I.D at Stainbeck police station. Grove Road Boston Spa, At 8.15am Aug 4 suspects using White Ford Transit van Reg; EY53MEV were responsible for the theft of charity bags left at Hospice. Two males and one female with eastern european accents are believed to be responsible. Enquiries are continuing. PACT ( Police and Communities Together ) meetings will be held every week at Boston Spa village hall, Boston Spa, detailed below are the scheduled dates until the end of the year.
