Boots opens on old Woolworths site

A NEW Boots shop has opened in the premises which formerly housed Harrogate's Woolworths store.

The chemists shop on Cambridge Street has relocated across the road to the bigger site, left vacant following the December collapse of Woolworths stores.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held early on Wednesday morning, and employee Maureen Greensit - who opened the original store and has worked there for 35 years - declared the shop officially open.

The new store will house the opticians team from Prospect Crescent, as well as a premium cosmetics counter.
