The chairperson informed members that Harrogate Planning Department are aware of this matter.

NCCZ - The clerk informed members that only one response had been received regarding this matter following an article in January’s Magazine. The item had again been placed in the February edition of the parish magazine in the hope of eliciting further responses.

Any other urgent business not on the agenda: Coun Mrs B Rickards informed members that the trellis fence around the electricity sub-station at the bottom of Grange Close is in need of repair.

Coun Mrs B Rickards informed members that a resident from the Top Mill was concerned about the parking at the bottom of Grange Close and on Town Street. The inconsiderate parking of a large camper van and a number of cars are making it difficult for other road users to see along the road or get through and out of the village.

A member of the public drew members’ attention the problems caused to road users by a very large camper van parked outside Bishop Thornton Primary School as it is making it very difficult for tractors and large vehicles to get through. Members agreed that there is very little that can be done about this matter other than highlighting the problem in the area news column of the local paper in the hope that people will be more considerate when parking their vehicles on the street.

Next meeting: 7.30pm February 25 Bishop Thornton Primary School.

Thank You: Thank you goes to everybody who has passed their use stamps on, and to everyone who has already paid their annual subscription for the parish magazine. Parking: The parish council has been notified by local residents about the number of cars parked on the roadsides around Grange Close, Town Street, Shaw Mills and Colber Lane, Bishop Thornton outside the schools. This is making access very difficult for vehicles to pass. Please be considerate where you park and think of other road users.

Snow has fallen from the sky

And turned the world sparkling white

The snow is sleeping silently on branches and on trees

Looking like candyfloss and good enough to eat!

We like the snow but now it’s time

To say goodbye and welcome in the spring.
