Andrea's Challenge: Andrea Walwyn, with full support from Matthew and Rosie, is preparing for the challenge of a lifetime - a five day hike along the Great Wall of China in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Care.

Together with her friend Cath Blakey she has already begun fundraising and training. The challenge takes place from September 24 until October 2 this year.

Money raised will help the Yorkshire Cancer Centre buy new equipment, boost medical research and provide home-from-home comforts for its patients.

To support Andrea and find out about her forthcoming fundraising events visit her online just giving pages at www.justgiving.com/Andrea-Walwyn.

Christmas Flowers: Thank you to everyone who helped with the decorating of the church for Christmas. A 'Traditional Theme' was achieved this year and from the comments received it was very popular.

Free time is very limited at this time of year due to work, home and family commitments and therefore giving up some of this precious time to come along to help is very much appreciated.

There are several spaces still available on the flower rota so if you would like to take one of these spare weeks please tel. Jenni Worsnop on 01423 770654 and she will let you know which weeks are available.

Thank you again, wishing everyone health and happiness in 2010.

Christmas Fair: A big thank you to all who helped in whatever way to make the Christmas Fair a success. We raised 945.08 on the day, and 400 on the luxury hamper. 200 went to the Children's Society, so our final total was 1,145.08.

Once again thank you to all. It was hard work but fun! Ann Harriss.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting: Please note that the Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held in St James's Church Hall on Thursday, March 18, at 7.30pm. Revision of Electoral Roll 2009 - from February 26 to March 3 inclusive.

Application forms for enrolment on the Church Electoral Roll are now on the table at the back of the church - the rules for entry are clearly shown on the form. Please read carefully.
