Arrest after woman dies from injuries

Detectives are investigating the unexplained death of a woman in Harrogate.

Susan Rose O’Connor, 53, was admitted to Harrogate Hospital on Monday suffering from serious injuries.

Concerned medical staff contacted North Yorkshire Police, but Ms O’Connor died the following day. Officers have been making inquiries in and around an address on Prospect Place to establish how she was fatally injured.

They are now appealing to anyone who can help with the investigation into her death to come forward with information.

Det Sgt Dave Horne, of Harrogate CID, said: “At the moment Susan’s death is being treated as unexplained.

“It is important that anyone who can help us establish how she sustained her injuries gets in touch.”

A 48-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Anyone who can help the investigation is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Harrogate CID. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 12120023187.
