Annual feast pledge after Scotton success

THERE was plenty of support for the re-established Scotton Feast, back after an absence of three years.

Organisers estimated around 300 people visited the Feast held in June on the village hall field.

Erica Ashmore from the Feast Committee said: “The event went brilliantly.

“Everyone was very positive about it and really enjoyed themselves. The fancy dress was fun, there were lots of games and activities for people to try out, there was a beer tent and plenty of refreshments for everyone and the weather stayed fine till a shower of rain just about the time of the tug of war.”

Erica was especially pleased the Feast committee had teenagers and pensioners helping organise the event.

“It was all ages helping and it worked so well, it’s great to have some younger people coming in to help out and we certainly intend to hold the Feast on an annual basis again,” she added.

If you would like to be involved next year, please contact Erica by telephoning 01423 862585.
