2-4-1 meal for early Midnight Walk sign-ups

PEOPLE who sign up to take part in a charity walk to help local people living with terminal illness and bereavement this month can take advantage of an early bird entry offer.

Anybody registering their place on the Engage Mutual Midnight Walk before Thursday, April 1 will receive an exclusive two-for-one dining voucher for The Brasserie at Cedar Court Hotel, Park Parade, Harrogate.

The Engage Mutual Midnight Walk – supported by the Harrogate Advertiser – is a quarter- marathon sponsored walk around Harrogate which will raise vital funds for Saint Michael's, the charity providing care and support to local families living with terminal illness and bereavement.

Chief Executive of Saint Michael's, Tony Collins, said: "Our website has been inundated with people eager to secure their place on this year's Engage Mutual Midnight Walk since the event's official launch last week.

1,000 people

"Saint Michael's has teamed up with the Cedar Court Hotel to reward those who register early with this exclusive dining offer.

"But places are limited so I urge those who are interested in joining us on this unique starlight stroll to secure their place as soon as possible.

"You can register online by visiting www.midnight-walk.org or alternatively call 01423 879687 to request a paper registration form."

The walk, which will take place on Saturday, July 3, will see more than 1,000 people take to the streets of Harrogate at midnight to complete a 6.5-mile circular route around the town centre.

There is a new route for 2010 which will start and finish at the Yorkshire Event Centre on the Great Yorkshire Showground, Wetherby Road, Harrogate and takes in many of Harrogate's favourite landmarks, including The Stray, Betty's Tea Rooms, the War Memorial and the Yorkshire Showground.

Terminal

It is the one night of the year when the Harrogate community can join together in support of local people who are learning to live with a terminal diagnosis.

Last year, the event raised more than 100,000 for Saint Michael's.

Each place on the Engage Mutual Midnight Walk costs 10 but organisers are hoping those taking part will raise as much as possible through personal sponsorship.

The event is open to all and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
