Annabel Wass and Sofia Snowball, both pupils at Belmont Grosvenor School in Harrogate, travelled to the capital to take part in The Lazy Ace - a musical show performed by members of their out-of-school drama group.

Year 6 pupil Sofia took one of the principle roles of Buzz in the London show while Annabel, nine, was one of the street kids.

Both girls – who study drama at co-educational prep school Belmont Grosvenor – loved their experience of the West End Stage.

Annabel said : “There can’t be many children who have the chance to perform at a world-famous theatre – it was really fantastic.

“I really enjoyed the performance as it was so special – I love singing and drama,” said Annabel, who is in Year 4 at Belmont Grosvenor, based at Swarcliffe Hall, Birstwith.

The Lazy Ace was staged at Her Majesty’s Theatre – in the heart of the West End and home to the long-running production of The Phantom of the Opera.

As well as their drama, singing and musical instrument tuition at Belmont Grosvenor, both girls are members of a Saturday drama group the PQA Academy, which staged the children’s musical.

Sofia has also performed at York’s Joseph Rowntree Theatre in The Little Mermaid.
