Woman disturbs burglars in her home

Burglars forced a frightened woman to flee from her home in the Bilton-in-Ainsty area.

The woman was upstairs when she heard the intruders knocking on the door before smashing a window.

The frightened woman ran outside to get help.

A person was seen running from the victims home before getting into a small, white van seen driving off in the direction of Wighill.

It was later discovered that the house next door on Rudgate had been burgled and high-value jewellery was stolen.

Police are appealing for information and warning people to be on their guard and report any suspicious vehicles or people in their neighbourhood.
