A woman had to be cut free from her car after a crash on the B6451 near Lindley Lodge at Norwood.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 9am on Monday, arriving to find a woman trapped in her car.

Using specialist cutting equipment, firefighters removed the roof of the car and managed to free the woman by 9.45.

She was taken to hospital suffering from suspected spinal injuries.

Hers was the only car involved in the crash, a spokesman for the fire service said.
