The first session of the Wildlife Watch club takes place this weekend.

As reported last week, the club –aimed at children aged five to 11-years-old – is returning for a second year with the first event taking place at Brimham Rocks, near Summerbridge, on Saturday, January 19, from 10am - noon.

Set up by Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in conjunction with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, the club allows young people from the district to have lots of fun taking part in all kinds of practical activities like bug-hunting, woodland walks and pond-dipping.

The group meets monthly at venues across the AONB (from Masham in the north to Otley in the south) on the third Saturday of each month. It costs £1 per child per session and the price includes a drink and a biscuit. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For more information contact the AONB office on 01423 712950.
