‘Shocking’ attack on Knaresborough teen

Police appeal.

Police appeal.

A 13-year-old boy was forced to the ground in a “shocking” attemped robbery on a Knaresborough street.

The boy was targeted as he walked along Water Lane at around 5pm on Monday, March 18.

He was approached from behind and pushed to the ground before his pockets were searched.

Following the attempted robbery, the offenders left empty handed possibly in the direction of Haye Park.

Now Knaresborough police are appealing for information following the attack.

Although the boy did not see the people who tried to rob him, he believes there were at least two offenders involved.

PC Ben Hallewell, of Knaresborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is a shocking attack which has naturally left the young victim very upset.

“If you witnessed the incident or can help to identify those responsible, I urge you to come forward and contact the police or Crimestoppers immediately.”

Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact on 101, press option 2 and ask for Ben Hallewell. Alternatively information can be emailed to ben.hallewell@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12130043821.
