Police in Harrogate

A school boy has been taken to Harrogate District hospital with minor head injuries after being hit by car in Starbeck.

Police were called at 3:43pm by a member of the public after the child, believed to be around nine or ten years old was hit by a vehicle.

The boy was cutting between stationary vehicles on the A59 near the railway crossing when the accident occurred.

Police arrived at the scene within five minutes and the boy was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
