A brawl which broke out on the street outside a Harrogate nightclub in the early hours of the morning left a man needing hospital treatment for a large cut to his forehead.

Police say as many as eight people were involved in the fight outside Harrogate’s Moko Lounge in the early hours of last Wednesday, December 5.

A 22-year-old man, who lives in the Harrogate district, suffered a large cut to his forehead which required a visit to hospital.

Police officers have spoken to a number of people who were in the club on the night in question and who may have seen what happened outside when the group left onto Kings Road.

They are also appealing for any other witnesses or people with information regarding the incident to come forward to assist police with their investigation.

They believe a group of men and possibly women, numbering between five and eight people, were involved in the altercation.

Two men aged 24 and 18, also from Harrogate, were arrested in connection with the investigation.

They have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about the fight, or who saw anything afterwards, is asked to call officers at North Yorkshire Police on 101, selecting option 2, and asking for Harrogate CID.

Alternatively, information about the incident can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting reference number 12120204645.
