Music workshops for Harrogate youngsters

YOUNGSTERS from across the Harrogate District are being invited to take part in the Harrogate International Festivals music workshops this February half-term.

‘Musical Villages’ is open to young people, regardless of experience and is aimed at seven to 13 year olds.

Bryony Davies, Music and Education Co-ordinator at Harrogate International Festivals, said:

“If you’re not taking your children abroad this half term, why not bring world music to life on your doorstep with our workshops. Children will learn basic techniques to play percussion and drums, before learning grooves and melodies from around the world. The workshop culminates in a performance of original music.

Places are limited and parents are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Musical Villages is part of Harrogate International Festivals year-long ReachOut programme.

Workshops take place on February 20, 21st and 22nd.

Call 01423 562303 or email bryony@harrogate-festival.org.uk to book your place or for more details. Tickets cost £5.
