Music night in memory of Sadie Rose

A GROUP of students has organised a musical event to raise money for children with Neuroblastoma.

The aim of the event, to be held at the Starbeck Youth Centre on October 13, is to raise awareness of the illness and is in memory of the Knaresborough toddler Sadie Rose, who died from the disease earlier this year.

All money raised by the night will be be donated to the Neuroblastoma Alliance UK Charity and the fundraiser will see a variety of bands performing, including Rosie, Purple Mafia, Summer City, Tweak, The Tickets and Nancy Payne.

The event is directed at a younger audience, said organisers. The students are working with 4Youth and CYC who have supported their cause and provided them with the venue.

One of the student organisers, Jess Venning-Brown, who is helping to coordinate the event with Ed Darling and James Baker, said: “We are fundraising for this specific charity to raise awareness.

“The charity doesn’t just help the child affected, but also their families.

“The more fund-raising we do for this charity, the more research we can fund, and in turn us young people can help to save lives of other young people.”

The NU:Vision event starts at 6.30pm on Saturday, October 3.

Tickets are £3 and can be bought at www.wegottickets.com/nuvision, or on the door for £4.
