Man, 70, attacked outside Harrogate Asda

An elderly man is in hospital after being attacked by a robber outside Harrogate’s Asda store.
The 70-year-old was pushed to the ground in the attack on Sunday afternoon, breaking his hip.
The robber ran off with his wallet containing cards and cash.
“This was a shocking incident which left the elderly victim with a serious injury and extremely distressed,” said Det Con Rebecca Smith of Harrogate CID.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident take place to contact the police as soon as possible.”
The robbery happened in broad daylight, at about 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
Any witness are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, asking for Harrogate CID.
