Fountains Abbey primed for national TV slot
People queue to present their antiques to experts
Historic Fountains Abbey will take pride of place in a primetime show to be screened across the country next weekend.
Antique fans are in for a festive treat as the BBC screens an episode of Antiques Roadshow which was filmed at the National Trust estate in July.
The show, presented by Fiona Bruce, will be on BBC One from 8pm on Sunday, December 30.
Over 3,700 people brought items to be valued by the show’s experts at the World Heritage Site.
The sun was out as large queues of people snaked around the abbey ruins.
A show statement read: “Some fantastic items were discovered, accompanied by some very surprised owners, which will be revealed on the programme.”
