Epilepsy Action is launching a Harrogate group

Epilepsy Action is launching a coffee and chat group to support young people and families in Harrogate affected by the condition.

The first drop-in event will be on Saturday, January 19 from 10.30am at St Peter’s Church, and then on the third Saturday of each month.

The informal meetings are designed to help people to share experiences in order to help each other.

Cliff Challenger, the charity’s local services manager for northern England said: “It can make a big difference to meet others who understand epilepsy.

“Everyone is welcome, whether you have epilepsy or know someone who does.”

Carl Donnelly, chair of the Harrogate Branch of Epilepsy Action, said: “We hope this new initiative will further strengthen the support for people with epilepsy and those close to them in Harrogate.”

Contact Mr Challenger on 01274 640064 or at cchallenger@epilepsy.org.uk

Epilepsy affects around one in every 100 people in the UK, and each day 87 people are diagnosed with the condition.
