Three Ripon Grammar School sixth-formers are aiming to cycle 300 miles from Edinburgh to Ripon to raise £1,000 for Operation Smile, a charity which pays for surgery for people born with facial deformities.

Jacob Lockwood, Matthew Bell and Stephen Laws, pictured from left, will set off from the Scottish capital on Sunday, October 28, head along the east coast and then cycle back inland to finish at Ripon Grammar School. The event is part of the school’s annual charity week where pupils and teachers work together to help raise money for specific causes.
