Crowds at Harrogate Spring Dub

Crowds of car fans and enthusiasts gathered at the Great Yorkshire Showground today (Sunday) for the first Harrogate Spring Dub festival.
Owners of classic and modern Volkswagen models, mainly classics such as Beetles, had their models on show inside and outside the ground.
Models included modified Polos and Golfs, including original GTi versions.
A number of owners were hoping to sell their cars on the day, and were busy polishing and cleaning wheels as the crowds rolled in.
Durham man Dominic Murphy gave the Harrogate Advertiser series a guided tour of his seven-seater Microbus, which spent much of its life at the Balboa Bay Club hotel in California.
Event organiser Bruce Emmett, of Mighty Events Ltd, said: “There was a massive crowd at the show, which is brilliant.
“People brought all manner of vehicles, and traders with stalls on the day.
“It is the first time the show has come to Harrogate. We wanted to bring it here because there isn’t another Volkswagen show in the north-east.”
Other star cars at the event included York man Peter Wray’s 1970 Beetle.
See Thursday’s Harrogate Advertiser for more pictures and interviews from the event.
