Concert in Hampsthwaite: I am not sure whether there will be any tickets left but I thought I would mention that the White Rose Concert Band will be playing a selection of popular music from films and theatre shows at Hampsthwaite Memorial Hall on Friday, April 19 at 8pm. Tickets are £8 which includes an interval drink and have been on sale at the post office or by ringing Stuart Jennings on 770509 or Maureen Robinson on 770449.

Bingo and Supper: if music is not your thing, then Bingo is being played at the Hampsthwaite Church Room on Friday, April 19 between 6.30-8.30pm. Tickets are £4.50 for adults and £3.50 for children and are available from Sue Smith on 07902260029.

Burnt Yates School News: the new term began this week after the Easter break. Ian Simpson the new head of Nidderdale High School will be taking part in the Golden Book Assembly on Friday, April 19. This had to be postponed from before Easter due to the weather.

Burnt Yates Cricket Club: weather permitting the new season starts on Saturday, April 20 when first XI is at home to Rainton and the second XI away to West Tanfield.

Old Tyme Dance: I see from my programme that the next dance at Kettlesing Millennium Village Hall is on Friday, April 26 when dancing will be to Mark Kito Band. The evening gets underway at 7.30pm and finishes at 11.30pm. Tickets are £8 and this includes supper. There is a bar available and a raffle will take place. Clint cum Hamlets Parish Council: the village assembly will be held on Thursday, May 16 at 7.30pm and this will be followed by the AGM at 8pm. Wine and nibbles will be served afterwards.

Summer BBQ and Village Fete: this is a date for the diary. The Burnt Yates Summer BBQ and Village Fete is to take place on Saturday, June 15. The afternoon events will start at 3pm with side stalls, competitions and table top sale.
