A GIANT pumpkin is helping to raise money for Saint Michael’s Hospice.
Regal Fruiterers, on Kings Road, is holding a guess-the-weight-of-the-pumpkin competition to support the Harrogate charity, which provides end-of-life care.
Entry is £1 - and the winner will take home a Christmas hamper.
Once the contest is over, the pumpkin itself will be up for grabs.
Zoë Moore, from the shop, said: “What we want to do is donate the pumpkin free to any school, organisation or charity who wants it - perhaps if they’re doing Cinderella.”
The mammoth fruit was produced in Lincolnshire and took four months to grow.
To take part in the competition, just pop into the shop.
