A FIRE broke out in a council warehouse last night, destroying gritters used to clear the roads in Harrogate.
Firefighters from across the district were called out to the Claro Road Industrial Estate at around 8.40pm, to reports of a fierce warehouse fire.
A council spokesman has confirmed this morning that three gritters are now out of action, but said that they have borrowed two more from the county council.
“Cover will continue as normal in Harrogate,” they said.
The cause of the fire has been put down to an electrical fault on a gritter.
