Exciting open day at craft beer brewery in Knaresborough

It sounds like a match made in heaven - a link-up between one of North Yorkshire's most popular craft beer micro-breweries run by two charismatic brothers and one of Harrogate's s most popular craft beer bars.

Following a successful launch event last year, independent Knaresborough-based brewery Roosters is hosting its second annual Brewery Open Day.

Taking place on Saturday, July 16, the packed programme will include live music, food and beer, of course, plus an outside events vehicle manned by staff from Major Tom’s Social bar serving Major Tom’s Pale Ale.

Tom Fozard, Roosters’ commercial manager, said: “It’s a great opportunity to come along and see how we do things, as well as being able to buy a beer or two and soak up the atmosphere with some funky tunes and a selection of street food.”

The strength of Roosters’ growing reputation is based on the imaginative approach of Tom and head brewer, his brother Ol’s passion for hops, in particular.

In an ever-growing field, they have been to lead the way utilising varieties from around the globe, including Australia, New Zealand, Slovenia and North America.

Highly rated across the country, it has become well known for regular ales such as Baby-Faced Assassin, Yankee and Fort Smith in cask, keg, bottle and can - as well as limited edition specials.

Running from noon to 5pm, the front of the brewery, which is located at Grimbald Park off Wetherby Road, will be transformed into a beer garden for next month’s open day.

Free tours of the brewery will operate throughout the afternoon and the open day’s main pop-up bar will be serving a mixture of Roosters’ cask and keg beers, as well as a selection of Roosters in can and bottle.

Street ood will be provided by Fat Annie’s Hot Dogs, Scream For Pizza and Karkli.

In terms of music, some relaxed beats will be aired via Tony Safari.
