most Harrogate homes will have received new recycling services by the end of next year, the borough council has said.
The introduction of plastic bottle and cardboard recycling on the doorstep was approved in January, along with wheelie bins for 90 per cent of properties and alternate weekly collections of rubbish and recycling.
The original aim was to be fully operational by January 2013. That has now been modified, but Coun Michael Harrison said “the vast majority will be covered by the end of next year”.
It is currently procuring bins and vehicles.
