After an overwhelming response to our campaign feature about Ending Loneliness for new parents, this week reporter Finola Fitzpatrick revisits the hidden epidemic, with a focus on young mums.

The focus of this week’s campaign feature is Musical Mums, a weekly music and singing class for mums under 25 and their children.

“We are all tired, missing parts of pre-parenthood life and want a break. But we smile and get on with it because we decided to put our own lives on hold to raise a precious little human”, said 21-year-old Harrogate mum Tanisha Gardiner. “You never know what people are hiding and if more people took five seconds out of their life to help somebody feel positive or remind them that they’re doing a good job then the world would be a happier, less divided place.”
